(taking care of business)
First things first-
Here is your summer jam playlist for brats 🙂 I have been using this (clean) playlist a lot in our fitness classes and someone usually asks about it so here you are-
In additon-
Here is a free “chill workout” I posted about a year ago that I stand by so hard and go back to often! This summer in Rhythm & Resistance class (free and open to the public at the YWCA from 9-10 on Saturday mornings!), we have been shredding with weights and getting down the basic movement patterns of strength training. Today we did this workout as an example of a more subtle way to create strengthing and resistance using a chair and rolled up blanket. We ended up calling it “recovering from vacation”.
This is a great workout for perhaps a yogi who would like to spice things up a bit and add weight to a mobility practice, but-
I really want to recommend it to people who love DEADLIFTING and strength training and haven’t done as much mobility work, and maybe are a lil too shy to hop into a yoga class. This would be an excellent introduction to getting more in touch with the spine, ribcage, pelvis, and more bodyweight and conditioning drills that will support the hips in deadlifts and squats.
That is why I share with you now!
Stay tuned for more chapters of “How to Work Out”, and a free monthly newsletter that wll be coming out the first week of September. It will include a free yoga class, and best of summer playlist, so be sure to subscribe to the newsletter and youtube channel for more interesting offerings.
Do let me know if you like these! I will work on saying “so” less and taking some of the feedback out of the vids.
This summer I enjoyed getting the 3 strength training programs and “How to Work Out”, out of my system and up onto this website, while this past mercury retrograde season I’ve been kind of libra-fying them and going through it all to make it look really good and easy to read, use, etc.
Part of that has meant getting back into the gym after taking a lot of time at home this summer to navigate changes and focus on all of this stuff, I was able to maintain my workouts with light dumbells at home and hopping into the gym every once in awhile, but this week was the first week I went back to my program and it was so nice- using the actual program through the format I created here was definitely the last piece to refining everything and making it perfect, so I’ll be promoting it and talking about it a lot more soon.
If anyone is interested in trying out one of the programs as a gunea pig I’m very interested in feedback and to hear how it would be recieved by someone else, before I start promoting the crap out of them.
Stay tuned for Ricochet Freeform Radio on 95.5 tonight from 7-10pm it’s going to be weird and fun as usual!
